Making the Best of the Worst – A Story of Courage and Kindness

Layla on Guitar

Now that we can truly say we’ve weathered the storm, and have since gotten back to filling our days with happy hours, themed parties, Watermark University classes, extraordinary outings and delicious dining, we’d like to take this time to reflect on Hurricane Irma and send a sincere thank you to all of those who heroically put our residents before their own families, homes and pets.

Our associates leapt into action, tending to residents needs and concerns, making them feel as comfortable as possible during a less than ideal situation. Resources at our corporate office in Tucson, AZ kept family members and loved ones informed with twice-daily emails and frequent updates to the community Facebook page. Our Watermark staff are truly the heroes of this story. Our residents enjoyed a spaghetti and meatball dinner with Italian serenading by Paul, our Dining Services Director. They passed the time with a game of cards, an uplifting song on the guitar or pleasant conversation with their neighbors. We are forever grateful to our staff, our extended Watermark family and the outpouring of love and support.
