My wife and I moved into The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods three years ago and have never regretted that decision for a minute. Everything about the place suits us to a “T” – beautiful apartments of varying sizes and a 53 acre campus, excellent cuisine, experienced management, reasonable fees and a very caring staff. But the biggest, unexpected, bonus for us was making so many new friends.
I’ve only been at The Fountains for a short, brief visit. The salesperson who took us around told us a few fibs, and next time I called to talk to him, he had been fired. Now I don’t quite know how much of what I was told is true or not. That’s why I’m going back there, because I didn’t have a chance to really look. It’s a beautiful place. I love the ocean, and it’s 2 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The campus is just gorgeous. The view is beautiful. I love Florida because I lived there for 13 years, and I really miss it.
They have all sizes of rooms. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom. I think they have a studio. I looked at apartments because the salesperson who took us around, the one that got fired, told me I could go into the apartments with my cats, and that wasn’t true. I found out later on that I had to go to a cottage if I wanted to bring my cats, which is like a hundred thousand more in the entrance fee.
Their pool is gorgeous. The dining area is very pretty. We had a little luncheon in their casual place, and it was OK. We had a sandwich. I really couldn’t tell how good their food was because we only had a sandwich. They have a lot of activities. They have classes from Watermark, and they come over and give lectures. They have exercise, they have tai chi. That was one of the things that I really liked.
At The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods, you need to buy into this facility. We were really impressed with this facility. Everything was first class, and the visit was very good. The staff did a good job on their explanation.
We’d known about The Fountains basically since it was built. We’ve been impressed all along. As far as I was concerned, it looked fine to me. I think the layout is beautiful. It’s lovely, well kept and the facilities are nice. Cleanliness is not a problem as far as I know. My friend who is there had more health issues so she was put in the nursing facility part and that has worked out really well for her. She just moved back into her 1-bedroom unit that she has over there. I know she is very happy.
We had visited The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods and its a very nice and elegant facility. The people are very friendly. They have lots of great activities and amenities offered to their residents, and the reasons we did not choose them were because of the smaller size of the apartment, and the buy-in fee. Otherwise, we would love to move my mom in there.
I recently had an opportunity to visit The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods. I am not easily impressed but The Fountains surpassed my expectations. The setting is truly awesome as it has several lakes, fountains and nature abounding all around all leading to a serene and relaxing environment. The people working and living there seemed interesting, very happy and friendly. All in all it was like a welcoming oasis but still near a major mall and the beaches and the city of Sarasota. What’s more to ask? If you are fortunate enough to get Chris or Claudia to show you the facility, you will appreciate your visit of The Fountains even more.
My Mother has been at this facility for a little over a year. She came from another facility where she obtained a severe rash, had severe swelling of her legs, had pneumonia on more than one occasion and we moved her to the Springs due to our concern of her care. Since being at the Springs, she no longer has a rash, has never had pneumonia and her legs are no longer swollen. Her overall care is much improved. There are loving nurses, staff and dining staff that has made a very positive change for my Mother. Thank-you Lake Pointe Woods…PeggyAnn
The Fountains at Lake Pointe was a nice facility. The surroundings were very clean and well maintained. They were very accommodating.
My parents moved to The Fountains over 8 years ago! While Dad is gone, now, Mom enjoys an active life with dear friends. The staff has always been like family, as well. My favorite place to stay when I visit in Sarasota! Elegant, yet comfortable accommodations!
As residents of The Fountains for 4 years, we really have enjoyed every minute of our stay there. My husband, now resides in the Assisted Living section called The Inn, and it is also an outstanding place to be. We realized it even more during hurricane Irma. It was so well organized ahead of time, they never lost power, the great staff from the top on, volunteered to stay ,and they took excellent care of all the residents. We could not have been at a better place. We were very impressed and thankful to be able to stay at The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods in Sarasota, FL forever.
My mother moved to The Inn at Lake Pointe Woods a year ago and have been very pleased with our choice. The staff is very caring and there are lots of activities and a real sense of community.
We had a wonderful time visiting friends. The staff was very friendly as was all the people that lived there. The chef is fantastic! Would love to live there.
This place is really awesome. It is nestled in charming area surrounded by lakes, fountains, with nature abounding all around. I found the people I talked to were very happy with their decision to live there. The staff that shows you the property were exceedingly nice and forthcoming and did not pressure me at all in explaining their community. I truly felt this was an oasis in Sarasota — it was like being in a Central Park for Sarasota with a close by mall and the beaches within a easy drive away. The dining and living are in the same building but you do have to walk to another building for many of the activities offered here — so you have to factor that in too. For now it is at the top of the list as I review my options for independent living.
My dad has been at the Inn now for 3 years it has been a wonderful experience, the grounds here are absolutely beautiful, but what makes the place so special is the people Sylvia and Frances and Claudia the aid are the BEST. They are what makes this place even more special. Thanks to all 3 of them, our family and father loves them.
I am a geriatric and palliative care Nurse Practitioner that has patients in facilities throughout Sarasota, Bradenton and Venice. For my geriatric patients and their families, caregivers, and loved ones, it is commonly quite challenging to find just the right facility where the staff are both knowledgeable and compassionate. But the Fountains Assisted Living Facility at the Inn at Lake Pointe Woods is a real gem. As a healthcare provider, communication from the facility regarding medical issues is a necessity and the staff at the Fountains are timely and efficient in communicating patient issues which helps me properly medically manage patients, prevent hospitalization, and promote aging in place. The administration and wellness director (director of nursing) are VISIBLE on campus: in the dining room, participating in activities such as singing with the residents, open door policy for patients and families, constantly educating their staff, and keeping myself and other providers updated routinely. I always hear great things from my patients and families about how communicative and thorough they are. I have found the nurses, the med techs (the staff that help give medications) and aides that care for the patients to be the most loving and caring staff. They let me know directly if they have a concern about a patient. The patience they show is incredible. It is obvious that the staff love their job. And just today one of my patients who recently moved into the Fountains shared with me how comfortable, relaxed, and sleeps better than she ever did because she feels so safe, all because of the loving caring staff. She especially mentioned the nurses, med techs, aides, dining room and housekeeping staff, as she observed how they treat everyone with kindness. And she especially noticed how they truly know their residents, such as those with hearing loss and cognitive issues, and how they know to talk to them so they can HEAR, but also with warmth and compassion. I agree 200%!!!! The Fountains does a fantastic job and I wish every facility was just like them. They are a true example of an assisted living done right in Sarasota.
Very nice place 🙂 with tons of awesome people!!
The Inn is a beautiful place with so many friendly faces. They always have a new fun and exciting event going on which is awesome for the residents. Super welcoming staff.
The only thing I would say is that he pays a lot of money for his medical compared to other places; however, the base rent is very affordable, and you get a lot for your money! They have an Olympic size swimming pool, a 34 seat movie theater, a cafe for friends and family, villas for guest to stay in when they visit, and the place is just beautiful. And overall, he is happy. The thing is, he does have dementia, so he would be better off if he had one on one care. Given his age and issues it would be nice if someone was with him to encourage him to do things. He doesn’t use the cafe, pool, or theater. I know they offer things, but with dementia, it is an individual question. He could use a job, because at 90 he really doesn’t have any reason to get out of bed in the morning. For him, where his room is, is great, there are activities right outside his room.
This is a preliminary review. We moved our 91-yr-old parents to a two-room apartment at the Inn three days before Hurricane Irma hit in early September. We could not have been happier with the care they got. Storm prep and communications from management were superior. So far, facility is very nice, food is excellent, and staff members are attentive and friendly. The facts that the Inn has medical personnel on site 24/7, allows pets, has a great pool, and has spacious and lovely grounds were major factors in our selection of this facility over newer and fancier locatons. So far, so good!
The Fountains at Lake Pointe woods was by far the best place for the money that we looked at in Florida. The staff and people there were friendly and accommodating of my mother’s needs and they really went above and beyond. The property is large, so keep in mind that transportation to some of the amenities on the other side of property is needed.
My mom is not really getting involved in any activities, I have seen them there, but she doesn’t do any of them. The food is excellent, what they provide is way better than the other places checked; I would put them as far superior. But you just get a continental breakfast in the morning and then a full dinner, so they don’t get lunch and I just wish they would get a little more protein for breakfast.
My mom wanted high ceilings and there’s probably 17 foot ceilings so it seems more spacious and she has a great water view and a view of several pools and some trees, it’s very nice.
After searching for a place for my Dad in Sarasota, we decided on The Fountains, it has been almost 3 years now that my Dad has lived here, my family could not be happier with this place. Frances who is in charge of the Dining Room could not go out of his way more to please not only my family but my father, he is absolutely the best. Sylvia is another one of the staff that is just wonderful, she always is thinking of creative ideas for the residents, my Dad just adores her. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great home away from home. The grounds are also absolutely beautiful. I give this place a 5 star. Thanks to this place we can rest easy at night knowing our Dad is safe.
My husband and I recently moved into the Independent living facility at The Fountains. We have a beautiful apartment and each day we comment to each other ” We made the right decision.” The food is excellent! Maybe too good as we have gained a little weight already. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
As it is independent living they do not provide any kind of health care. Just a nurse from the assisted living facility who comes once a week to check blood pressure if you desire to do so. They also provide Flu shots once a year. All of this is made clear before you move in. We looked at many places before deciding on the Fountains. We liked the campus and the staff and the food. We felt this this was a great value for our money. We hope to enjoy it for many years.
When you enter the community you are greeted by a very friendly smiling concierge. While moving throughout the community staff are always asking if you need assistance. Residents are smiling and friendly. Administration and Nursing staff are very caring and responsive to the needs of the residents. There is compassion, caring, and warmth that you feel within this community.
My mother has lived at The Fountains (Independent Living) and The Inn @ the Fountains (ALF) for the past 3 years. We have been happy with the level of care, communication and socialization offered, especially at the Inn! My mom was not ready to accept her need for an Assisted Living Facility and the move was met with some resistance. The staff at The Inn helped her transition and assimilate to her surroundings. She has enjoyed evening activities, afternoon socials and even a little morning exercise!
As a medical professional I am in and out of many Assisted Living Facilities throughout Sarasota County. The Inn at Lake Pointe Woods is top notch! They go above and beyond for every resident. From Housekeeping, Activities, Nursing, Dining to Administration the team truly cares about the residents, takes the time to get to know each one individually and caters to their personal needs. I challenge anyone to try and find an Assisted Living Facility that cares for their residents better.
